Bernardsville Honoring Veterans - Mr Local History Project
The borough of Bernardsville, New Jersey, in conjunction with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Memorial Post 7858 and Downtown Bernardsville, honors local soldiers with a program entitled “Bernardsville honors our soldiers.” Bernardsville was once part of Bernards Township until 1924, which is why the Mr. Local History Project honors this program, as there are armed service personnel that served in the Continental Army’s war for independence, the Civil War, and World War 1, so we often share common honor rolls.
There are currently 31 veterans honored for the Bernardsville Banner Program.. They are hung in mid-May through mid-July for Memorial Day and July 4 and then for Veterans Day in November.
The Mr. Local History Project honors Bernardsville’s armed service soldiers, their service, and their sacrifice.
